What we collect

Phony collects the minimum information needed to run a community phone number directory:

• Phone numbers searched and the time of the search.
• User-submitted reports and comments about those numbers.
• A hashed, anonymised identifier (derived from a cookie or your IP + user agent) used to prevent duplicate reports and votes from the same visitor.

What we don't do

• We do not require account registration.
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not publish raw IP addresses.

Cookies

We use two cookies: one anonymous visitor cookie (phony_id) and a CSRF cookie (phony_csrf). Neither contains personal data.

Analytics

We may use Google Tag Manager for aggregate analytics. You can disable tracking in your browser.
