Government services, large retailers, banks, insurers and utility providers all use 1300 ranges. Because they're widely associated with "official business" calls, scammers love to spoof 1300 numbers to give their robocalls an air of legitimacy. Unlike geographic numbers, you can't infer location from a 1300, and the displayed number tells you nothing about who's actually calling. Always look up an unknown 1300 before you call back.
